At the foot of this high hill called “Kef El-Boumba”, which remains a historical landmark and a living witness to the massacres of 8 May 1945 committed by French colonialism. Here and exactly at the bottom of the hill and along the road connecting Guelma and Annaba, the colonial forces transported citizens in trucks. Once arrived at this place, they were made to get off, to be executed by a firing squad and buried in mass graves. These crimes continued for several consecutive days.
