Thibilis is located on a plateau at the bottom of the Anouna mountain in the municipality of Selaoua Anouna. It is 03 km to the south-east and 27 km from the Province capital on the road between Guelma and Constantine. It extends over a plain on a rectangular surface of 700 by 350m: that is to say 25 hectares. It is the most important archaeological city of the Province. The visitor can see its ramparts, its columns, its palaces. He can walk on its large squares, on its roads paved with polished stones. He will get to know its places of worship and remember an era that is more than 2,000 years old. The city was an ancient Phoenician centre and part of the Numidian state of Massinissa. Researchers discovered more than 1,600 inscriptions from the Phoenician and Roman periods.
The most important public facilities in the city of Thibilis are:
1. Forum: located in the middle of the city, overlooking the main street about 40 m from the Triumphal Arch. It occupies an area of about 600 m².

3. The gates: the city had five gates: the Church Gate, the Victory Gate, the East Gate, the main entrance and the City Magistrate’s Gate.

5. Basilica: There are traces of a church to the north near the Byzantine castle.
6. The terms: they were not only intended for bathing, but served as sports training and meeting centres. Their pillars are still standing.
